Dental Marketing in Cleveland, OH

For a dental practice, the key fact is that the metro is roughly flat while its patients are moving. Cuyahoga County lost about 31,800 residents since 2020, while Lorain County gained about 10,200 and Medina County about 2,600. A practice that grew up serving one inner-ring suburb may now find that its newer families live 20 or 30 minutes west or south.

In August 2026 the Bureau of Labor Statistics counted about 1.10 million nonfarm jobs in the metro. Education and health services was the largest sector at about 209,100 jobs, followed by trade, transportation, and utilities (about 188,600), professional and business services (about 151,900), government (about 137,800), and manufacturing (about 125,200). The unemployment rate, not seasonally adjusted, was 1.8 percent.

The Cleveland Dental Market

Our Cleveland dental marketing programs draw on Greater Cleveland market knowledge, including The Census Bureau's six-county Cleveland metro (Cuyahoga, Lorain, Lake, Medina, Ashtabula, and Geauga) held about 2.17 million people in July 2025, roughly 20,000 fewer than the 2020 base. The trend has turned, though: the metro added residents in each of the last three estimate years, about 2,500 in the year to July 2025. The city of Cleveland counts about 364,000 residents, and Cuyahoga County holds about 57 percent of the metro..

Submarkets We Target

City of Cleveland

About 364,000 residents, down roughly 2 percent since the 2020 base, so most offices here compete for patients who already live nearby rather than for newcomers.

North Ridgeville, Avon, and Avon Lake

Lorain County's fastest-growing cities: North Ridgeville is up about 7 percent to some 37,800 residents, Avon Lake about 5 percent to 26,500, and Avon about 3 percent to 25,600.

Elyria and Lorain

The two largest Lorain County cities, at about 53,600 and 65,400 residents, both holding steady or growing slightly while much of Cuyahoga County declined.

Parma and Lakewood

Two of the largest inner-ring suburbs, at about 78,600 and 49,000 residents, each down about 3 to 4 percent since 2020.

Strongsville, North Royalton, and Westlake

Established southwest and west suburbs of 30,000 to 46,000 residents each, roughly stable, with patients who often drive between suburbs for care.

Medina County (Brunswick, Medina, Wadsworth)

The county is up about 1.4 percent to some 185,000 residents; Wadsworth grew about 3 percent, while Brunswick and the city of Medina held near 35,100 and 25,700.

Lake County (Mentor, Willoughby, Painesville)

About 232,000 residents and essentially unchanged since 2020; Mentor is the largest city at about 47,000, and Willoughby and Painesville grew slightly.

Ashtabula and Geauga Counties

The two smallest counties in the metro, each near 96,000 residents, with long drive times that make a clear map listing and accurate hours especially useful.

Insurance and Payer Environment

We have not found a primary source for dental plan market share in Greater Cleveland, so we do not publish one. What we can say is that education and health services is the metro's largest job sector, and many patients therefore arrive with employer dental benefits and a short list of questions about which plans an office takes. A plain, current list of accepted plans on the website and the Google Business Profile answers that early.

Demographics and Patient Base

The Census components of change show why the metro stopped shrinking. In the year to July 2025, births minus deaths subtracted about 2,400 people and domestic moves subtracted fewer than 200, while international migration added about 5,100. Over the full period since 2020, Lorain and Medina counties together gained about 12,800 residents while the metro as a whole lost about 20,000.
